نددت شخصيات دينية في الحوزة العلمية في النجف الاشرف وكربلاء المقدسة ، بالتقارير التي تحدثت عن قيام افراد في الجيش الامريكي على اهانة القران الكريم ، والمس بقدسيته واطلاق الرصاص عليه ، وطالبت باعتذار رسمي امريكي ومعاقبة الجنود الذين ارتكبوا هذه الاهانات .

وقال حجة الاسلام الشيخ فلاح عبد العال : ” ان هذا التقرير الذي انتشر حول تعمد الجنود الامريكيين اطلاق الرصاص على الفران الكريم ووضعه على الشواخص في ميدان التدريب في بغداد ، اكد لنا انباء سابقة عن اهانات وتدنيس لقراننا العظيم ، وهذه الجريمة هي بمثابة حرب على الاسلام وعلى المسلمين وحرب ضد العراقيين الذين ابتلوا بهذا الاحتلال ، وانني استغرب من صمت الحكومة العراقية والاحزاب السياسية التي بيدها السلطة والحكم حتى الان ، واستغرب عدم اعطاء هذا الموضوع مايستحقه من اهتمام وعناية وتدخل عاجل لدى القوات الامريكية لمعاقبة الجنود الامريكيين “.
وقال حجة الاسلام السيد نوري ابراهيم الموسوي : ” هذه ليس المرة الاولى التي تدنس وتهين القوات الامريكية القران الكريم ، في العراق هذا البلد المسلم ،وان استخدام الجنود الامريكيين “القران الكريم”  للتدريب واطلاق الرصاص عليه وتمزيقه ، انما هو نسخة مكررة لتصرفات الصليبيين عندما غزوا بلاد المسلمين وكانوا يحتفلون في حلقات ليتباروا في تمزيق “القران الكريم ” بسيوفهم ، لذا ارى في هذه التصرفات ، تعبيرا عن شعور صليبي بغزو بلاد المسلمين واهانة كتابهم “قرانهم المجيد” والتعمد في قتل ابنائهم في مدينة الصدر وفي المدن الاخرى ، وكل هذه التصرفات تعبيرا عن شعور صليبي ضد الاسلام والمسلمين ” .
واضاف : ” اننا نطالب حكومة المالكي بالتحرك بسرعة لتقديم احتجاج رسمي لقوات الاحتلال ولسفارتهم في بغداد ، والمطالبة بمحاكمة الجنود ، وتطبيق اقصى العقوبات بحقهم “.
وقال حجة الاسلام السيد امير عبد الحسين البطاط : ” لقد افجعنا وآلمنا هذا النبأ ، وحقا انني استغربت لانني لم اتوقع ان تصل الجرأة بالجنود والضباط الامريكيين ليمزقزا كتاب الله المجيد هذا القران العظيم برصاصهم ،ويحولوه الى شواخص للتسديد واطلاق الرصاص عليه ” واضاف : ” لانريد صمتا من الحكومة ، ولانريد من الناطق الرسمي للحكومة ان يتجاهلا هذه الجريمة ، فانه عار وذنب كبير ان يقوم محتلون وغزاة بتمزيق القران المجيد في ظل حكومة منتخبة ، وتقول انها تملك السيادة الكاملة على البلاد ، وعلى الادارة الامريكية في واشنطن والبنتاغون ان يقدما اعتذارا واضحا للمسلمين كافة ،وللشعب العراقي على هذه الجريمة وان يعطوا ضمانات لمحاكمة الجنود الفاعلين لهذه الجريمة ” .
كما قام خطباء المجالس الحسينية التي تقام هذه الايام ، بمناسبة ذكرى شهادة السيدة فاطنة الزهراء، بالتعليق على هذه الجريمة باهانة وتدنيس كتاب الله المجيد في مركز تدريب للقوات الامريكية في بغداد وتمزيقه برصاص جنودها ، ونددوا بالاحتلال وبتصرفاته ،وطالبوا بموقف حكومي واضح وصريح من هذه الجرائم”.
وكانت القوات الامريكية قد اكدت التقارير التي تحدثت عن هذه الجريمة ، وذلك باعلانها فتح التحقيق في هذه الجريمة ، ووصف الکولون

This year’s severe drought is forecast to lower wheat and barely yields in Iraq by up to 35 percent, the Ministry of Planning said.

The ministry, in a statement, added that Iraq has been subjected to one of its worst droughts in recent history this year.

Wheat and barley yields may not exceed one million tons, the ministry added.

Iraq needs up to four million tons of wheat to meet domestic produce and at least two million tons of barley used mainly as animal feed.

Last year Iraq harvested more than 1.5 million tons of both crops and the rest it imported from abroad.

Iraq’s food import bill has been ballooning and is estimated at more than five billion dollars.

Worst hit area is the wheat and barley growing belt to the east of Mosul traditionally know as Iraq’s ‘bread basket.’

But the area relies almost wholly on rainfall which has been very scarce this year.

The ministry forecast yields of wheat at 590,000 tons and barley at 483,000 tons this year.

Ronak was wounded by bullets in the neck, side and leg and only survived after a four-hour operation. She was the latest victim of a huge increase across Iraq in the number of “honour” killings of women for alleged immorality by their own families.

Many are burnt to death by having petrol or paraffin poured over them and set ablaze. Others are shot or strangled. The United Nations estimates that at least 255 women died in honour-related killings in Kurdistan, home to one fifth of Iraqis, in the first six months of 2007 alone.

The murder of women who are deemed to have disobeyed traditional codes of morality is even more common in the rest of Iraq where government authority has broken down since the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in 2003.

A surprising reason explaining the massive increase in the number of honour killings is the availability of cheap mobile phones able to take pictures. Men photograph themselves making love to their girlfriends and pass the pictures to their friends. This often turns out to be a lethal act of bravado in a society where premarital or extra-marital sex justifies killing.

The first known case of sex recorded on a mobile leading to murder was in 2004. Film of a boy making love with a 17-year-old girl circulated in the Kurdish capital, Arbil. Two days later she was killed by her family and a week later he was murdered by his.

كشف مصدر طبي في البصرة ،الخميس  ،إن  طفلا توفي (بداء السعار) نتيجة عضة كلب كان قد تعرض  لها قبل أكثر من شهر وان حملة للقضاء على الكلاب السائبة قد بدأت. 
وأوضح المصدر الذي فضل عدم الكشف عن اسمه للوكالة المستقلة للأنباء(أصوات العراق) إن” الطفل سجاد عودة البالغ من العمر  عشر سنوات  توفي ،الأربعاء ،بعد إن  نقل إلى احد مستشفيات المدينة  من منطقة الجزيرة في قضاء شط العرب (20كم شرق المدينة )،وكان بحالة سيئة وهو سابع اصابة خلال عامين”.
ولم يكشف المصدر عن المستشفى الذي توفي فيه لكنه أضاف  إن الطفل كان قد تعرض لعضة كلب قبل أكثر من شهر في المنطقة ذاتها .

واشار  إلى إن هذه هي حالة الوفاة السابعة التي تسجل في البصرة خلال عامين.

Iraq has started to import vegetables for the first time in its modern history despite a rich agricultural heritage that reaches back 6,000 years. Aside from the direct consequences of a failed military occupation, such as lack of security, fuel and electricity, U.S. occupation authorities have installed a neo-liberal free market system that has pushed Iraqi farmers out of competition as foreign goods flood the markets. That in turn is hitting the local economy and increasing unemployment.

BAQUBA, May 15 (IPS) - Farmers in the Diyala province in Iraq have been hit by just about every crisis possible. First the security disaster dried up supplies and markets, then lack of electricity cut irrigation, and now comes a drying up of water resources.

Nothing now seems more difficult in Iraq than the business of farming.

“The shortage of water is the biggest threat that Iraqi agriculture has ever faced,” an employee in the directorate-general of irrigation for Diyala province, speaking on condition of anonymity, told IPS. “It threatens not only food but also employment in this city (Baquba, capital of the province).

“The shortage of water can be ascribed to the shortage of rain and snow at the main sources,” the employee at the irrigation centre said.

Many farmers say that they fear that the northern Kurdish-controlled region of Iraq is facing a dry 2008. The mountains there, besides the mountains of southwest Iran and southern Turkey, form a large source of water for Iraq.

The government is doing little to help people over this crisis. “The directorate is impotent and can give nothing to the farmers,” the irrigation centre employee said. “Hundreds of thousands of acres are now desolate, and thousands of people jobless.”

Most villagers work in farming, and now that farming no more sustains people as it did, life there is badly hit. Agriculture in this area kept Iraq supplied, and also produced enough for exports. But now farmers sometimes have a hard time feeding themselves.

“The majority of our village farmers have quit and the rest will follow,” farmer Nasir Ibrahim told IPS. “This is because of obstacles like security, displacement, water shortage, lack of seeds, and lack of backing on the part of the ministry.

“Farming is our source of our living; it’s our job. We used to live in the village; we cannot live in the city to work in offices, even though so many farmers have become policemen.”

The degraded security situation in the province has left farmers with the option only of selling their fruit and vegetables in smaller markets, because accessing the central market has become too dangerous.

Weeks of fighting have shut off many essential services in the Shia neighbourhood.

Living conditions in Sadr City, already one of Baghdad’s most impoverished slums, have deteriorated sharply following weeks of fighting between Shia militiamen and United States-backed Iraqi troops that has killed hundreds, according to Iraqi lawmakers.

“The situation has deteriorated significantly because most of the services have been stopped,” said Aliyah Nassif Jassim, a member of parliament from the Iraqia bloc, who recently visited the district as part of a parliamentary delegation. “Many civilian homes have been destroyed as a result of the air strikes and the military operations.”

A fragile four-day ceasefire agreement between radical Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr and the Iraqi government signed on May 12 has reduced but not halted fighting in the area, a Shia neighbourhood run by Sadr militiamen. The US military has maintained that Iranian fighters are supporting Sadr loyalists there. Iran has denied having a military presence in Iraq.

Salih al-Agili, an MP loyal to Sadr who lives in Sadr City, said more than 100 houses have been destroyed by the continuous skirmishing and air strikes since the outbreak of hostilities more than a month ago.

قال رئيس مجلس الصحوة في مدينة الموصل، الجمعة، ان مقاتليه بدأوا بالتجمع استعدادا للمشاركة في العمليات العسكرية الجارية في المدينة ضد تنظيم القاعدة، فيما نفى نائب محافظ نينوى وجود اي قوات للصحوة في الموصل، مبينا ان رئيس الوزراء نفسه لم يذكر شيئا عن مشاركة الصحوات في حال وجودها.

وقال الشيخ فواز الجربا رئيس صحوة الموصل، للوكالة المستقلة للانباء (أصوات العراق) إن “اكثر من 11 الف من قادة ومقاتلي الصحوة، بدأوا بالتجمع في عدد من اقضية ونواحي محافظة نينوى، استعدادا للمشاركة في العمليات العسكرية الجارية في الموصل لملاحقة فلول تنظيم القاعدة في الموصل”.
وكان المالكي وصل الى الموصل يوم الاربعاء الماضي، برفقة وزيري الداخلية والدفاع للإشراف على عملية ام الربيعين التي بدأت في المحافظة، وهي الصفحة الثانية من عملية زئير الاسد التي شرعت بها الحكومة لملاحقة المسلحين السبت الماضي، واستقبل الخميس وفدا من شيوخ العشائر وعلماء الدين في المحافظة بحضور وزيري الداخلية والدفاع كما التقى مجموعة من ضباط الجيش العراقي السابق الذي تم حله بعد الغزو الامريكي للعراق في العام 2003.
واضاف الجربا، وهو احد شيوخ عشيرة شمر العربية القاطنة في محافظة نينوى، ان صحوة الموصل “تنتظر اوامر رئيس الوزراء نوري المالكي لأخذ دورها في عمليات ام الربيعين.”
وكان قائد عمليات نينوى الفريق رياض جلال توفيق قال في وقت سابق لـ(اصوات العراق) إن بأمكان مقاتلي الصحوة المشاركة في العملية العسكرية بالموصل، وفي جميع الاحياء والمناطق، ولكن على شرط ان لا يحملوا السلاح.
من جهته، نفى نائب محافظ نينوى خسرو كوران، ان يكون هناك اي تواجد رسمي لمجالس الصحوة في الموصل.
وقال كوران لـ(اصوات العراق) إن الموصل “لا يوجد فيها اي قوات صحوة، ولا علم لي بأي اتفاق يقضي بمشاركتها في العمليات الجارية الان في الموصل.”
واضاف كوران ان رئيس الوزراء نوري المالكي “لم يذكر اي شيء حول مشاركة لقوات الصحوة في العمليات العسكرية، لكننا نرحب بوجود قوات الصحوة اذا كانت فعلية، وتعمل على حماية الحدود والقرى النائية والساخنة، ” لكنه استدرك قائلا “مع هذا نحن كأدارة ولجنة امنية في  محافظة نينوى، لاعلم لنا بتشكيل اي صحوة في  الموصل.”
وكان المالكي اعلن اليوم الجمعة، عفوا يستمر عشرة ايام، عن المسلحين في محافظة نينوى الذين يسلمون اسلحتهم الثقيلة والمتوسطة الى الاجهزة الامنية او الى رؤساء العشائر في مناطقهم.
ونقل بيان لمكتب المالكي قوله مخاطبا اهالي نينوى، “قررنا العفو على المنخرطين في الجماعات المسلحة مقابل تسليم اسلحتهم الثقيلة والمتوسطة الى الاجهزة الامنية او الى رؤساء العشائر في مناطقهم مقابل ثمن وذلك ابتداءا من تاريخ اصدار هذا البيان ولمدة عشرة ايام، وستصدر تعليمات لاحقة لآلية تسليم السلاح”.

لقي 30 شخصا مصرعهم واصيب 20 اخرون بجروح امس الاربعاء اثر تفجير انتحاري استهدف مجلسا للعزاء غربي بغداد. وقال مصدر امني ان انتحاريا يرتدي حزاما ناسفا فجر نفسه داخل مجلس عزاء في ناحية ابو منيصير التابعة لقضاء ابو غريب ما اسفر عن مصرع واصابة 50 شخصا على الاقل معظمهم في حالة خطرة. واضاف المصدر ان الإنتحاري استهدف مجلس عزاء مدير اعدادية صناعة ابو غريب طه سليمان الزوبعي وهو احد اقارب قائد صحوة ابو غريب وقد اغتيل الثلاثاء الماضي امام مدرسته من قبل مسلحين مجهولين يستقلون دراجة نارية. مشيرا الى ان قوات الامن قامت بتطويق مكان الانفجار فيما نقلت سيارات الاسعاف المصابين الى مستشفى الفلوجة العام لتلقي العلاج.
