خلُصت دراسة استمرت لأكثر من عقدين ونشرت في عدد مايو/أيار الحالي من الدورية الدولية للسرطانInternational Journal of Cancer، إلى أن القهوة والشاي لا يزيدان من خطر إصابة المرأة بسرطان الثدي.
وقال الدكتور دافاسامبو جانما إن بين هذا العدد الكبير من النساء على مدى فترة متابعة استغرقت 22 عاما لم نلحظ أي علاقة بين القهوة “التي تحتوي على الكافيين أو المنزوعة منه” والشاي وبين مخاطر الإصابة بسرطان الثدي.
وأضاف جانما الباحث بكلية الصحة العامة في جامعة هارفارد أن القهوة والشاي مشروبان آمنان جدا في حالة تناولهما باعتدال.
وقاس جانما وزملاؤه استهلاك القهوة والشاي والكافيين بين 85987 امرأة شاركن في الدراسة، تراوحت أعمارهن بين 30 و55 عاما في بداية الدراسة، وعلى مدار 22 عاما من المتابعة أصيبت 5272 امرأة بسرطان الثدي.
وبعد دراسة عوامل أخرى مرتبطة بسرطان الثدي مثل العمر والتدخين وكتلة الجسم والنشاط البدني وكمية الكحول التي يجري تناولها، وتاريخ الأسرة وانقطاع الطمث وتاريخ العلاج بالهرمونات وعدد الأطفال، لم يجد الباحثون أي مخاطر مرتفعة للإصابة بسرطان الثدي بين النساء اللائي كن يشربن 4 أكواب أو أكثر من القهوة (سواء التي تحتوي على الكافيين أو المنزوعة الكافيين) والشاي في اليوم، مقارنة بأولئك اللاتي كن يتناولن أقل من كوب واحد يوميا.
ولم تظهر الدراسة أيضا أي ارتباط بين الإصابة بالمرض وبين شرب أنواع أخرى من المشروبات الخفيفة التي تحتوي على الكافيين والشيكولاته التي تساهم في زيادة المقدار الإجمالي للكافيين.

Electricity Bombing Campaign
The electricity campaign continued. An attack yesterday evening on the al-Doura power station, (south Baghdad) caused severe damage to two generation plants forcing the power station offline. Widespread blackouts were caused throughout the region. One of the plants was set on fire the other severely damaged by the attackers. A fire engine was attacked and also set on fire. Several firefighters were wounded. The area is considered to be a hotspot and as the Electricity ministry official who spoke to Aswat Al Iraq on condition of anonymity pointed out repairs require security and the region is a “hot spot” and not under control either of the Americans or the green zone government despite massive reinforcements there. (Notes: The plant is now operating at one third of its already reduced capacity. The last attack was on the pipelines to the plant. The attack before that destroyed one generation plant.)
Karbala Aftermath (Update 6):
Afternoon: In general the governorate is calm. In the city things are gradually returning to normal. In the centre of the city there are people in the streets. Cleanup crews and citizens aided by civil dense are at work. Work is also underway at the shrines.
Statement from the religious authorities.
The tourism director of Karbala said today that he had organised the evacuation of 6000 Iranian pilgrims from the city “to preserve their lives” the evacuation (??roundup??) involved targeting hotels and hostel used by pilgrims and is evacuating the pilgrims first to Najaf from where they will be returned to Iran. (there is security plan to maintain their safety he said - editor’s note: There is an agreement between the two countries on the number of pilgrims allowed and on measures to protect their safety. This agreement was strengthened after the July 6th, 2006 suicide bombing of Iranian pilgrims in Kufa that markfromireland reported on here: Iranian Pilgrims Bombed in Kufa
Security Reorganisation In Karbala
The meeting in Karbala headed by Nouri Al Maliki and attended by:
- the green zone government Minister of Defense
- Muwaffaq al-Rubaie
- Bahaa Al-Araji
- officials in the police and intelligence service in the province
agreed to strengthen the role of the security forces in Karbala, which will be under the command of the green zone government Ministry of Defense. The meeting lasted several hours. The meeting agreed the dismissal of officers on grounds of negligently performing their duties and reorganising the security services in particular the protection of the Mosques.
The same report says that the Sadrist office in Karbala has closed for three days in mourning for those killed during the clashes. That when telephoned an official in the office said this was in obedience to the statement by Muqtada al-Sadr and his directives and pointing out that the security forces are currently conducting raids and arresting members of the Sadrist movement in the city and outlying neighbourhoods.
Cleanup and repair operations are underway to open the Shrine of Imam Hussein.
Babil:
Two SIIC (SCIRI) offices have been burnt down in al-Hashimiya, (30 south of Hilla) the Islamic Centre in the region (the centre belongs to the foundation led by Amar Abdel Aziz al-Hakim the son of Abdul Aziz Al Hakim) has been burnt down also. SIIC (SCIRI) has blamed what it calls “renegade Ba’athists”.

قال مصدر في مستشفى الحسين العام بكربلاء، الثلاثاء، إن عدد قتلى الاشتباكات التي تجددت، ظهر الثلاثاء، بلغ 27 قتيلا فيما بلغ عدد الجرحى الذين ادخلوا المستشفى 143 جريحا، في حصيلة أولية مرشحة للزيادة، بينمابلغ العدد الكلي لضحايا المواجهات المسلحة ليوم أمس (الاثنين) واليوم (الثلاثاء) 31 قتيلا و179 جريحا.
وقال المصدر الذي طلب عدم ذكر اسمه للوكالة المستقلة للأنباء (أصوات العراق) “تسلمت دائرة الطب العدلي حتى الآن 27 قتيلا هي حصيلة مواجهات اليوم (الثلاثاء) كما تم إدخال 143 جريحا إلى المستشفى لتلقي العلاج بعد تجدد اشتباكات بين رجال الشرطة ومسلحين.”
وتشهد مدينة كربلاء، منذ ليل الاثنين، اشتباكات مسلحة في منطقة باب بغداد (200م شمال مرقد الإمام العباس) بين مسلحين مجهولين وحماية منطقة ما بين الحرمين أسفرت عن مقتل أربعة وجرح 36 آخرين. وتجددت المواجهات، صباح الثلاثاء، في المنطقة نفسها وما زالت مستمرة حتى الآن.
وأضاف المصدر “إن هذه هي حصيلة أولية يمكن أن ترتفع إذا ما استمرت الاشتباكات.”
وكان شهود عيان من مدينة كربلاء ذكروا إن عدة آلاف من الزوار اضطروا إلى الهرب من وسط المدينة القديمة باتجاه مرآب المدينة الرئيس بعد تصاعد الاشتباكات بين مسلحين وقوات الشرطة، وعلى خلفية فرض حظر التجوال الذي أعلن، ظهر الثلاثاء.
وكان المصدر ذكر في وقت سابق انه “تم استلام 4 قتلى و36 جريحا هي حصيلة مواجهات، الاثنين، وبين القتلى ثلاثة لم يتعرف على هوياتهم بعد، فيما كان بين الجرحى ثلاث نساء وطفل وشرطي وشرطية وأحد عناصر الدفاع المدني.”
وتابع “ان العدد الكلي لضحايا المواجهات المسلحة ليوم أمس (الاثنين) واليوم (الثلاثاء) والتي تسمها المستشفى فقط، بلغ 31 قتيلا و179 جريحا.”
من جهة أخرى قال شاهد عيان لـ (أصوات العراق) إن” ثلاثة فنادق احترقت وما زال الدخان يتصاعد منها”.
وأضاف ان “المواجهات مستمرة رغم انها أصبحت متقطعة، لكن ثلاثة فنادق هي أسد الله والأنوار والرحمن، قد احترقت وتصاعدت من مبانيها ألسنة الدخان لان مكانها قريب من المرقدين.”
وأشار ان المواجهات “تسببت باحتراق عدد كبير من السيارات التي كانت قريبة من المكان.”
وبين الشاهد انه “لا يعرف عدد السيارات المحترقة إلا إن من بينها عددا من سيارات الشرطة، ومركبات تابعة لبعض الدوائر الحكومية وجمعية الهلال الأحمر العراقية.”

ذكر مصدر مسؤول في محافظة كربلاء إن اجتماعا ضم مسؤولي المرجعيات والمكاتب الدينية والحكومة المحلية، بينهم مدير مكتب الشهيد الصدر بالمحافظة، عقد، عصر الثلاثاء، لغرض إيقاف الاشتباكات الدائرة بين مسلحين وقوات الشرطة.
وقال المصدر، الذي طلب عدم ذكر اسمه، للوكالة المستقلة للأنباء (أصوات العراق)”عقد اجتماع موسع حضره ممثلي الحوزات العلمية والمكاتب الدينية وبعض مسؤولي المحافظة والأجهزة الأمنية في المحافظة لمناقشة كيفية تطويق ألازمة وكيفية توقف المواجهات التي اندلعت منذ أمس ، الاثنين، وتجددت صباح الثلاثاء.”
وتشهد مدينة كربلاء، منذ ليل الاثنين، اشتباكات مسلحة في منطقة باب بغداد ( 200م شمال مرقد الإمام العباس ) بين مسلحين مجهولين وحماية ما بين الحرمين أسفرت عن مقتل أربعة وجرح 36 آخرين..وتجددت صباح الثلاثاء في نفس المنطقة وما زالت مستمرة لحد الآن.
وأعلنت السلطات المحلية فرض حظر للتجوال في مدينة كربلاء اعتبارا من ظهر الثلاثاء وحتى إشعار آخر، فيما ذكر شهود عيان ان الاف الزوار اضطروا الى ترك وسط المدينة هربا من المواجهات المسلحة.
ولم يشر المصدر إلى تفاصيل أخرى عن الاجتماع أو مكان انعقاده ، لكنه ذكر إن ” الاجتماع مستمر وحضره مدير مكتب الشهيد الصدر في كربلاء عبد الهادي المحمداوي وممثل عن المرقدين وبعض مسؤولي المحافظة.”
وكان مدير مكتب الشهيد الصدر في كربلاء الشيخ عبد الهادي المحمداوي دعا في خطبة له أمس الاثنين “الجميع الى عدم إطلاق النار والعمل على تهدئة الوضع.”
وقال “على الجميع أن يمتثل لأمر القائد مقتدى الصدر الذي حرم دم المسلم على المسلم وان يعود الجميع إلى أماكنهم.”
وتشهد مدينة كربلاء توافد أعداد كبيرة منذ يوم الأربعاء الماضي لإحياء ذكرى ولادة الإمام المهدي الإمام الثاني عشر لدى الشيعة .
وتقع مدينة كربلاء، مركز محافظة كربلاء، على بعد 108 كم جنوب غرب بغداد.

Summary: There are meetings going on between officials and officers of the religious authorities and the local government, attendees include the Director of the Office of the Martyr al-Sadr in Karbala they are trying to work out how to contain the crisis and stop clashes between gunmen and police forces. Fighting has been going since Monday night around the Baghdad gate and in the streets between the two shrines. The fighting is still going on.
