في موقف جديد للمرجعية الدينية من المباحثات التي تجريها الحكومة مع الولايات المتحدة للتوقيع على الاتفاقية الامنية طويلة الامد معها، بشان السماح للجيش الامريكي في البقاء في العراق وبناء القواعد العسكرية ، ابدى المرجع الديني سماحة آية الله العظمى السيد صادق الحسيني الشيرازي ، قلقه الشديد لما تناقلته الأنباء عن مشروع هذه الإتفاقية الأمنية ،مؤكدا ان كل إتفاقية تجعل سلطة للكفّار على المؤمنين أو تنقص من سيادة العراق المسلم فهي مخالفة للشرع، وقد قال الله تعالى: «ولن يجعل الله للكافرين على المؤمنين سبيلاً

وياتي هذا الموقف الشديد من الاتفاقية بعد بيان شديد اصدره المرجع الحائري من هذه الاتفاقية الامنية ، وبعد انباء متضاربة عن موقف المرجع السيستاني بشان هذه الاتفاقية الامنية ، والذي لم يحسم حتى الان بصدور اي بيان رسمي من مكتب سماحته ، في ظل انباء عن تقارير غير دقيقية اوصلها بعض المسؤولين في الحكومة العراقية الى سماحته ، والتي حاولت ان تظهر هذه الاتفاقية الامنية للسيستاني وكانها حاجة وضرورة للرعاقيين ، وليس للولايات المتحدة !!

As of 12th of September 2007, twenty one districts of Northern Iraq have reported laboratory-confirmed cases of cholera putting over 3.5 million people exposed to risk from this ongoing outbreak.

Fourteen out of sixteen districts of Sulaymaniyah province, all five districts of Kirkuk province and two out of seven districts of Arbil governorate  are now affected by this cholera outbreak in Northern Iraq. A map showing the affected districts together with statistical tables and charts can be found in the WHO Sitrep_8 which can be downloaded from here as a PDF.

There have been 10 deaths so far. The outbreak continues to be of major threat to public health in the region.

The source of the outbreak is still not known.

Rest of Irak

There is no sign that the disease has spread to any other part of Irak. See Cholera Sitrep_7 for the situation in Dhi Qar, Diyala, and Salah ad Din.

Baghdad

• A stool sample collected from a suspected case in Baghdad has tested negative for Vibrio Cholerae.

Ninawa Governorate

• One stool sample collected from Mosul has shown positive growth for Vibrio Cholera at the local public health laboratory and is now being retested at the National Public Health Laboratory in Baghdad.

إغتيال السيد حسين الحسيني وكيل المرجع السيستاني في البصرة

قالت الشرطة العراقية اليوم الثلاثاء أن مسلحين مجهولين إغتالوا أحد وكلاء المرجع الديني آية الله علي السيستاني في البصرة مساء أمس.

وأوضح مصدر في الشرطة لوكالة (العين) الإعلامية “ان مسلحين مجهولين اطلقوا النار على السيد حسين الحسيني وكيل السيد السيستاني أمام منزله أمس الإثنين في منطقة جبيلة في البصرة مما اسفر عن مصرعه على الفور”.

والجدير بالذكر ان الحسيني هو الوكيل الثاني الذي يتم إغتياله في غضون أقل من أسبوعين.

English Briefing: A second aide to Grand Ayatollah Al Al-Sistani has been murdered in Basrah. Sayyed Hussein al-Husaini the Imam of al-Mahtah mosque was murdered at this home in al-Jiniynah by gunmen who forced their way into his home and shot him dead. He is the second agent of Grand Ayatollah Sistani to have been murdered in as many weeks. He was known to be a supporter of SCIRI (SIIC).

كربلاء المقدسة -  قال مراسلنا في مدينة كربلاء ان قوات حماية الحرمين الشريفين قاموا باغلاق الحرمين على الزوار المتوافدين الى كربلاء بعد مواجهات يوم امس و التي اسفرت عن مقتل اربعة اشخاص على الاقل و اصابة عشرين آخرين .
و اضاف ان مواجهات وقعت اليوم  في كربلاء لم يتسنى معرفة القتلى و المصابين حتى الساعة و ذكر ان حالة من القلق و التوتر تسود المدينة خوفا من اي عملا ارهابي يستهدف الزوار .

هذا و قد ناشد مدير مكتب الصدر في كربلاء “الجميع” تهدئة الوضع وعدم إطلاق النار. وقال مدير مكتب الشهيد الصدر في كربلاء الشيخ عبد الهادي المحمداوي، خلال خطبة ألقاها في الصحن الحسيني الشريف ” إننا ندعو إلى انسحاب الجميع من أماكنهم، وعدم إطلاق النار.”
وكان شهود عيان قالوا إن إشتباكات مسلحة إندلعت، مساء يوم امس ، في منطقة باب بغداد التي تبعد مائتي متر فقط شمال مرقد ابا الفضل العباس وسط كربلاء بين عناصر مسلحة وقوات الشرطة العراقية وأفراد حماية الحرمين، في وقت يتوافد فيه على المدينة أعداد كبيرة من الزوار لأداء الزيارة الشعبانية وإحياء ذكرى ولادة  الامام المهدي (عجل الله تعالى فرجه الشريف).

وأضاف المحمداوي “على الجميع أن يمتثل لأمر القائد مقتدى الصدر… الذي حرم دم المسلم على المسلم، وأن يعود الجميع إلى أماكنهم.”ودعا المسؤول الصدري في كلمته “المسؤولين في العتبتين إلى إعطاء الأمر إلى عناصر الحماية بعدم إطلاق النار، تحت أي ظرف كان.

وأوضح أحد الشهود  أن الإشتباكات إندلعت “عندما امتنعت مجموعة من الراجلين عن قيام قوات الشرطة بتفتيشهم عند إحدى نقاط  السيطرة قرب باب بغداد و قيام احد افراد الشرطة برمي الرصاص في الهواء لتفريق المجموعة “.
وأضاف ” تسببت الإشتباكات في مقتل اربعة اشخاص وجرح عدد من الزوار، هذا و قد أغلقت المنطقة من قبل الشرطة على الفور.”

الى ذلك دعا مكتب المرجع الديني آية الله العظمى السيد محمد تقي المدرسي الى ضرورة التهدئة و ضبط النفس .
و من المرتقب صدور بيان من مكتب آية الله العظمى السيد علي السيستاني بهذا الصدد بعد ما شهدنا بيان التهدئة عقب تفجير سامراء .

Mosul, Apr. 8 (VOI) – Concrete barricades, abundant assassinations, unidentified bodies littering the streets here or there, rampant unemployment and a nightmarish vision are haunting Iraqis’ minds on the 4th anniversary of the occupation of their country.

However, they are attaching badges of Iraqi flags and maps on their chests as students of Mosul University to mark the 4th anniversary of Iraq occupation in their own way to express their unity.

“We should call the spade a spade and we should not fool ourselves giving names to occupation. This is just an American stratagem that might by sold to the (American) people, but the people of Iraq will never buy this,” Ahmad Hilal of the Administration & Economics College, Mosul University, told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).

Hilal said despite all that blood, the Iraqis are still awake and would never replace the word occupation with liberation.

Khalid Fawwaz of the fine arts college said “when the walls of my city are draped in black banners and the soil turns red with blood, all the slogans brought about by the occupation forces go down the drain.

Baghdad is divided by the Tigris River into two main areas: the left bank of the river is known as Al Rassafa, the right bank as Al Karkh. As a rule of thumb:

Al Rassafa

Highly commercialised, older, more run down, and the population is generally less prosperous (middle to low income.)

Al Karkh

Less heavily commercialised and in general more prosperous (middle to high income.) The exception to the “less heavily commercialised” rule is Al Mansur.
