Today a Christian resident of Mosul has been kidnapped by gunmen who smashed their way into his house in al-Baladiyat. Gunmen killed another man nearby.
Separately to this today a man was killed by gunmen who stormed his house in al-Yarmouk.
Violence in Mosul continues at a high level:
- Yesterday (February 13th) in al-Tahrir an army patrol was bombed. The soldiers escaped uninjured but a 13 year old boy who was passing by was so severely wounded by the blast that doctors needed to amputate one of his legs.
- Also yesterday in the evening gunmen ambushed an army patrol in Zangeli in the gunfight that resulted a civilian was killed a policeman was wounded and three civilians were also wounded.
- Earlier yestereday a corpse of a man who had been shot was found just outside al-Ashiq village about 55Km west of Mosul in Talafar district.
