Scenes From An Iraki Childhood May 20th 2008 Walls and Pools Edition
This first photo in a set of three shows boys playing in a pool of water in front of the wall the Americans are erecting to divide Sadr City. The caption suggested by AFP reads as follows:
Iraqi boys play in the muddy waters of a broken water mains in front of the concrete wall being built by the US army through the restive Sadr City district of northeastern Baghdad. Iraqi troops have poured into Sadr City for the first time in eight weeks, without resistance from militias who have fought deadly street battles with US forces.

Well … … … yes … … … I suppose you could call water contaminated with faecal matter “muddy”.
The second photo shows show residents crossing through a gap in the all that the Americans have built to turn Sadr City into even more of a ghetto than it already is. As with their other walls it is turning the city into a gigantic open air prison in which they can do as they want:

The third photo this time from AP shows children swimming in the crater caused by an American missile strike. Note the pipe foreground left of the photo. And yes that water has shit in it too.
