March 15th 1990
Farzad Bazoft a journalist working for the Observer newspaper was hung by the then Iraki government led by Saddam Hussein on March 15th 1990 on trumped up espionage charges. Some of us have not forgotten.
Since the illegal American invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein, life for journalists in Irak has become grimmer and more dangerous than anything Saddam’s Mukhbarat ever dreamt of achieving.
Well done America! What you have achieved in Irak in every aspect of human rights and human decency is consistently an order of magnitude worse than anything Saddam Hussein’s regime managed. That is indeed an occasion for “shock and awe”.
I hope you’re fucking proud of yourselves. Have a nice day.
