A whole family killed in Mosul today 29/10/2007
A family of 4 was killed this morning by gunmen who burst into their house in Naynawa (Nineveh) district, east bank of Mosul. Three of the family members were women. A fifth family member was wounded in the attack.

Mortars fall in Al-Iraqiya TV Station in Mosul.
Three mortar missiles fell on the studios of Al-Iraqiya Radio & TV Station this morning. No casualties were reported.

Explosive device wounded a policeman.
An explosive device exploded targeting a police patrol unit in Al-Quds district, north east part of Mosul wounding one member of the patrol.
Body found in Mosul.
Unidentified body was found by the police  in Al-Wahda district, Mosul today 29/10/2007.
Assassination of a police woman in Mosul.
A police woman who serves in Al-Salam Hospital was assassinated today by gunmen in Al-Noor district, Mosul.

A civilian killed in one of the the industrial zones in Mosul today.
One civilian was shot by gunmen in the industrial area specialized in manufacturing windows and gates.

The occupation forces: The arrest of 24 Al-Qaida Ameer (prince, or commander) in Mosul.
Via Wakalat:
The communications officer of the American occupying forces in Iraq, Admiral Chris Smith, announced that a joined Iraqi and American forces arrested 24 leading figures from Al-Qaida organisation in Mosul. One of the is the Ameer of Media Salman Ali Mohamed and another person who is a Saudi national who had worked with bu Osama Al-Tunisi, who was killed last September. Smith added in his press conference jointly held with the US Embassy Adviser in Baghdad Phil Recker and the Head of Reconstruction of Iraq team Andy Paston that Khaled Al-Mashhadani, an arrested leader form Al-Qaida in Mosul helped us with a lot of information on Al-Qaida organisation in Mosul and that Al-Qaida activities has dropped by 80%. Smith did not mention where about these  arrests were made but added that the Joined Forces discovered a large ammunition depot in Al-Sadr City, north west of Baghdad. The depot contained 120 Lb of C4 material used in making explosive devices

A retired police brigadier murdered in Mosul. (originally via Wakalat)
Gunmen assassinated a retired police brigadier in Mosul in front of his brother’s house in Al-Thawra district, west of City of Mosul. The gunmen opened fire form within the new car which they were in. The victim was an officer in the Legal Department in Nineveh Police and was made retired last month. The same source added that the police had found the body a police sub officer who had been kidnapped from his home last Sunday evening. The officer had been shot in the head and chest.
