The Attack On The Children’s Hospital In Baghdad By Green Zone Government Forces
Baghdad, Sept 22, (VOI)- An official source from the Children’s Hospital in western Baghdad said on Saturday an Iraqi force raided the hospital and beat the guards, leading patients along with their relatives to flee the hospital.
“A force from the Iraqi National Guards raided the Children’s Hospital in al-Iskan neighborhood, western Baghdad, this evening,” the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
The source added “when the guards and policemen assigned to protect the hospital tried to uncover the cause of the raid, the assault force beat a few and detained two guards.”
“The force elements also fired their weapons over their heads, causing patients to panic while families accompanying patients fled the hospital,” the source said.
The hospital physicians threatened to go on strike if they did not receive an explanation from the authorities for the cause of the raid as it represented “a threat to their lives,” the source concluded.
ذكر مصدر مسؤول في مستشفي الطفل في حي الاسكان غربي بغداد أن قوات عراقية من الحرس الوطني اقتحمت مقر المستشفى مساء السبت وقامت بضرب عدد من المنتسبين.
وقال المصدر ، الذي طلب عدم ذكر اسمه ، للوكالة المستقلة للانباء ( أصوات العراق) ان ” قوات من الحرس الوطني اقتحمت قرابة مساء السبت مستشفى الطفل في الاسكان غربي بغداد ولدى محاولة الشرطة وحرس المستشفى معرفة سبب الاقتحام قامت القوات بضربهم باعقاب البنادق واعتقال اثنين من حرس المستشفى والاعتداء بالضرب على دورية شرطة كانت داخل المستشفى وقاموا باطلاق النار في الهواء مما اثار فزع العديد من المرضى الراقدين ومرافقيهم وهروب العديد من المرضى من الاطفال وعوائلهم خارج المستشفى.”
واوضح المصدر ان الاطباء هددوا بالاضراب مالم يتلقوا توضيحا عن سبب اقتحام المستشفى واطلاق النار والاعتداء على الحرس وتعريض حياة المرضى والاطباء للخطر وان عددا منهم اوضحوا انهم بصدد عدم الدوام خوفا من تكرار العملية لانهم لايعلمون اسباب اقتحام المستشفى.
