Scenes From An Iraki Childhood June 12th 2007
Meet wo-year-old Muqtada Od’a. He’s from Khan Bani Saad. He was wounded by a mortar.

Khan Bani Saad is a small town in Diyala, it’s been the scene of fierce fighting recently, and several very large bombings have been committed there.
It’s also the place where poor refugee families took over the prison and occupied the tiny cells one family per cell because they had nowhere else to go.
Yesterday Tuesday, June 12th 2007, there was a mortar attack on Khan Bani Saad. Muqtada was one of the 25 civilians wounded in that mortar attack. Muqtada was first taken to a local hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Sadr city. The photo was taken yesterday.
