Aswat Al Iraq Journalist Murdered In Mosul

Her name had been included in the death list of journalists issued by the ”Emir” of the “Islamic state in Mosul”
She was one of the first jourbalists who started the agency on 01/11/2004. She was born in Baghdad in 1962 and held a bachelor’s degree in information. She was married and with three daughters.
Last week Aswat Al Iraq (Voices of Iraq) journalist Nezar Abdul Wahid al-Radi was shot dead near the near al-Arousa Hotel in Al Amarah, Maysan while with a group of journalists preparing to attend a workshop for journalists in the city.

Baghdad, Jun 7, (VOI) - Voices of Iraq (VOI) correspondent Sahar Hussein al-Haydari was killed on Thursday afternoon in al-Hadbaa neighborhood in Mosul by unidentified gunmen, a police source said.
“Her name was among other names listed by what is called (Emir of the Islamic country in Mosul),” deputy chief of the Mosul police department Mohammad al-Wakaa told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
President of the Syndicate of Journalists in Iraq’s Kurdistan region Abdul Ghani Ali Yehya said that “Al-Haydari, a member of the syndicate, was followed and targeted by gunmen and we knew this.”
“She is a new victim for the Iraqi press,” he added.
Sahar Hussein al-Haydari lived in Mosul and worked for a number of media institutions.
She joined VOI on January 11, 2004.
Al-Haydari was born in Baghdad in 1962 and had a bachelor’s degree in media. She is survived by her husband and three daughters.
Last week, VOI lost another of its correspondents, Nezar al-Radi, who was killed by unidentified gunmen during his participation in a workshop for journalists in Missan.
