Scenes From An Iraki Childhood May 10th 2007

I will start by quoting the American invaders:

Air strike in Sadr City, three secret cell terrorists killed

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition Forces killed three terrorists and detained four suspected terrorists Thursday morning during raids in Sadr City.

The individuals targeted during the raid are suspected members of a secret cell terrorist network known for facilitating the transport of weapons and explosively formed penetrators, or EFPs, from Iran to Iraq, as well as bringing militants from Iraq to Iran for terrorist training.

The other seven wounded civilians were
the same age as this one.

Upon arrival at the targeted area, ground forces received small arms fire from two separate buildings. Coalition Forces, using appropriate self-defense measures, returned fire and engaged the armed terrorists.

Despite efforts to subdue the armed terrorists, Coalition Forces continued to receive enemy fire.  Using appropriate escalation of force to react to the perceived threat, Coalition Forces called for close air support, killing three armed terrorists.

During the course of the morning’s operations, Coalition Forces targeted a concentration of buildings associated with the terrorist network, detaining four suspected terrorists during the raids.  Three Iraqi civilians were also injured during the operation.  The three injured individuals received medical attention on scene from Coalition Forces.

Intelligence reports also indicate the secret cell has ties to a kidnapping network that conducts attacks within Iraq.

“Coalition forces strike at the terrorists where they hide, not waiting for them to inflict violence on the Iraqi people,” said Lt. Col. Christopher Garver, MNF-I spokesperson.  “The Iraqi people continue to reject the methods of the terrorists and choose instead a stable, peaceful Iraq.”

(Emphasis added by me.) The Americans attacked what they knew to be a densely populated civilian area from the air again, and wounded Iraki children again. I am only grateful that today they didn’t manage to kill some children like they did yesterday when they bombed a school.

This was another “escalation of force” “incident” there are getting to be more and more of those. As usual they try to wave the “terrorist” flag, and also no doubt as usual the obedient western news agencies will swallow whatever lie they are told.

It is ridiculuous to try to pretend that everyone in Irak who is against the illegal, corrupt, brutal, and savage American invasion of Irak is a terrorist. It is ridiculous to to try to pretend that just like they did in Ramadi, and in Haditha, that the Americans had the slightest care for civilians when they “escalated force” They themselves have admitted in their statement that what they came under fire from were light arms. In other words from rifles and machineguns.

It is even more ridiculous to to try to pretend that the Iranians are smuggling arms into Sadr city. I fought in the war with Iran and like most Irakis I lost many of my family in the war with Iran. I have little love for the Irianian government. I can and have said many bad things about them what one cannot say is that they are stupid.

Let us add some details carefully left out of that nicely neutral and sanitised American press statement:

The raid started around 2A.M. and was concentrated on blocks 52 and 53 of al-Dakhel street. The raid bombardment went on for two hours. Residents were prevented from trying to evacuate the wounded to local hospitals.

The raid was carried out exclusively by American troops - just like all the other raids they’ve carried out recently. For some reason or another they can’t seem to be able to get green zone government troops to come along on these little jaunts of theirs. The raids are always exclusively against Sadrists. Never against either the criminal gangs or the Badr brigades who are trying to gain a presence in the area. Never.

Left out of the statement is that the raid was part of an escalating series and that the blockading of Sadr city is tightening - just like it did in other parts of Baghdad before the Americans started to wall the place in.

“The Iraqi people continue to reject the methods of the terrorists and choose instead a stable, peaceful Iraq.”

Yes indeed we reject the American invaders completely
