Karbala Bombing

There has been a bombing close to the Imam Abbas Shrine in Karbala that is about 250-300 metres from the tomb of Imam Hussein. Reports are still coming in however the main hospital in Karbala says they have so far received 50+ bodies and 70+ wounded.

Update 1:

It is now clear that:

1. This bombing is in exactly the same place as the last major bombing in Karbala.
2. The method was identical — a suicide car bomb.
3. The bomb was timed to catch people as they made their way to eveining prayers.

The last bombing was on April 14th and killed 47 people and wounded 224.

Update 2:

50 dead 70 wounded.

Update 3:

55 dead and rising. 158 wounded and rising. Many women and children amongst the casualties.
