Mohammed Ibn Laith’s Page
أهلا و سهل
“Every day is Ashura and Every Land Is Karbala” — Imam Jafar as-Sadiq(A) Welcome to the page of Mohammed Ibn Laith. I am a Muslim, I am Iraqi. We used to live in Najaf but now I live in Baghdad. I work distributing food for a charity, I also study at school we have arranged for our teachers to live in our neighbourhood where they can be protected. This is my personal page. — It shows mostly The Holy Qur’an recitations and some music that I love. I also like soccer very much, I am in a local team, we play when we can, at least once a week. It is difficult to get to a pitch so we have an arrangement to block off a particular street and we play there.
The Holy Qur’an
This is Hasan bin Abdullah Al Awadh reciting Surah Yaseen this is often called the “heart” of The Holy Qur´an. He and Ahmad Saud have the most beautiful voices and their recitations are so perfect, I have many recordings of Hasan bin Abdullah Al Awadh and Ahmad Saud.
These next two are also of Ahmad Saud I put them here to try to show some things that go through my mind and that of every Muslim when we read or recite The Holy Qur´an . The first has images the text is not in English. The second recitation has one image and English text:
Qur’an recitation - Surah At-tur
Quran recitation - Ahmad Saud [english]
The Holy Qur´an is written in very beautiful poetry. That beauty is part of the infinity of ways the God uses to show us that there is no separation between the sacred and the mundane. All of life and history and how it is lived is to me what a westerner would perhaps call a sacrament.
About The Style
Ahmad Saud recites in a very classical style very like this
Surat Al-Furqan [Verses 1-34] recited by the famous by Al Afasy. My Muslim brother truthflash in his kindness has placed many recitations online. That particular recitation I have chosen because it will explain to you some of what I believe.
This recitation of Surat Ad-Dhuha (The Morning Hours) is for a friend of mine that it may bring him comfort:
# By the Glorious Morning Light,
# And by the Night when it is still,-
# Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased.
# And verily the Hereafter will be better for thee than the present.
# And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased.
# Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)?
# And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance.
# And He found thee in need, and made thee independent.
# Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness,
# Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard);
# But the bounty of the Lord - rehearse and proclaim!
