Baghdad, Jan 6, (VOI) – An Iraqi journalist working for the Associated Press (AP) was found killed in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Friday night, an official source in the AP office in Baghdad said on Saturday.
“Ahmed Hadi, a photographer for the AP, was found on Friday at the forensic medicine department in Baghdad,” the source told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
“The body, which was found in the area of al-Mahdiya, al-Dora district, had shots in the head and hands. His hands were tied to his neck,” said the source, who asked not to be named.
Hadi, 28, had been kidnapped from a place near his home in al-Mahdiya, south of Baghdad, a week ago, said the source, adding Hadi’s fate was unknown until his corpse was found on Friday.
The AP, an American news agency, said Hadi was correspondent and photographer in some occasions for nearly two and half years, adding the circumstances shrouding the murder of Hadi are still unclear
